  32. I think you answered the question about why the Amiga port might be
  33. different.  I don't think the Amiga port writes disklabels for
  34. partitions.  From the Amiga install doc:
  35.  
  36.     The install program will now make the root filesystem you
  37.     specified.  There should be only one error in this section
  38.     of the installation.  It will look like so:
  39.  
  40.                 newfs: ioctl (WDINFO): Invalid argument
  41.                 newfs: /dev/rsd0a: can't rewrite disk label
  42.  
  43.         If there are any others, restart from the the beginning of
  44.         the installation process.  This error is ok as the Amiga
  45.         does not write disklabels currently.  You should expect
  46.         this error whenever using newfs.
